Goin' with the WOOD-GRAIN!

Just Us Girls have a FANTASTIC technique challenge for lovely YOU, this week!

{It's a challenge that has ME written all over it!}

We're goin' with the WOOD GRAIN!

Oh, DEAR! Oh, MY! What luck! {For ME!} I, personally, LOVE wood grain!

Our lovely HOSTESS with the mostess for this week, Pam... {I could KISS her!}
chose this grand method of creating faux wood grain - I JUST LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE!

Paper*Stamps*Embossing* and now, ink pad dragging & scoring ... to make -

WOODGRAIN! {Heeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllloooooooooooooooo!}

So, of course, I saw BARN-wood potential - I mean, c'mon - you KNEW I'd go there!

And a "little SCENE!" to see beyond the window....

Hard to imagine HOW I LIVED without these wonderful sentiment stamps from
the, ever such a gift to all western-lovin,' crafty types, Clare, from Waltzing Mouse Stamps!
And some terrific horse images from Inkadinkadoo - I had all the components of a proper
barn scene! I little masking and layers of stamped, embossed words and images.....

Bless the magic of our CRAFTY materials..... Ink + Paper + STAMPS!

{I KNEW I'd find a use for this wonderful stamp!}

"Round Up the POSSE!" - clear embossed on top of vanilla card stock,
that had been tinted with creamy caramel dye ink,
then dragged with cocoa brown, dye ink, then espresso....

Ooooow, BABY - I smells me some leather! But SPEAKING of my posse!
Yessum' - round 'em up! And HERE they are!!!!

Hello Elise,
Woo Who! I love the wood grain technique; thanks for sharing the video with Gina K. I watched the entire video it is awesome. I love your “Round up the Posse” card; I am always on the look out for inspiration on card designs that lean towards the manly man look. Off to scrapbooking and card making today with my girlfriends! I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday. Have fun and creative day!
Smiles, Paula

Whoa! I knew this was your card the instant it came in the frame as I was scrolling down to look at all the JUGS creations! It IS you---and you have nailed it! Those WM sentiments are just perfect....and so is your barnwood. I am still on the fence (no pun intended) to try this---I am thinking my patience level is too low. Well, I might try it! LOL! Anyway, this is fabo!

No horsin around, cowgirl! I'll kiss you right back for the amazing, awesome, wonderful card you came up with. Can I hear a YEEE HAWWW?? Yep I surely do - your "barn" turned out perfectly and is the absolute RIGHT background for your delightful, wild horsey scene. I'm ready to saddle up and ride off into the sunset - can I be part of that Posse!?!? The fence & posts, the "rope", the wanted poster - it's ALL there. No I've got to go rustle up some grub but thanks for the magnificent inspiration!!! YOU ROCK.

Oh WOW!!!! I just LOVE what you've done with this horse image and that fabulous technique!! I have this stamp set and have never stamped it to look this good yet, but I'm working on it :) The barn wood is just amazing and I love your finished western-themed project! It's perfectly detailed and designed!!

This card makes me want to saddle up and head on on a nice, relaxing ride - gazing at the trail ahead between the bobbin' ears of my trusty steed (that is one of my favorite parts of riding:))! Girl you so NAILED this woodgrain technique!!! Your card looks EXACTLY like the side of a barn! And your scene is, as always, beyond compare!!! *happy sigh* You are an ARTISTE!!! Yes, an artiste I say!
