New SCRAPLAND: progress report!

Hello, fine and funny friends of BLOGLAND!

Thanks for all of your support and understanding about my disappearance from the land of BLOG! Where have you been ALL my life ~ I love it! It felt wonderful to hear from so many of you and I so appreciate the patience and encouragement you've all shared so generously!

Here are some progress pictures of NEW SCRAPLAND! The painting and carpet are done and WHAT a color challenge I have given myself! When I get it together, I'm going to challenge myself to make some cards showcasing the colors I have chosen. {And, it WILL be a challenge! hee hee} I started with a color called "saddle"...

My husband walked in and asked "what made you choose ORANGE!?!"

Luckily, for him, before I could answer {or throw something at him...} he said, "it looks GOOD!"

Then, there was a 5$ bucket of this great color ...

I don't even know what it's called, but it was so close to the darkest color on the swatch of my "western" saddle color.... that I grabbed it for accent! Here's some more shots around the room..

For the beams, I mixed the two, purchased colors, with one of those groovy mixing attachments you pop right on to a screw gun! Wahoo! Who needs the Kitchen Aid! That baby blends color - like buddah!

Here's me, swaddled in paint clothes and perched from my ladder, frantically doing some touch up before....

CARPET!

Hee Hee! Lookeee! It's CLEAN! And new! And smells REALLLLLLY nice! It's THE nicest carpet in all of RANCHO DURENBERGER! {I guess that's a little perk for giving up old Scrapland... Oh, YEAH!}

Right AFTER this photo was taken, I took a nap RIGHT ON THE GROUND!

{Not really, but I thought about it for a LONG time!} hee hee

So, FRIENDS! That's progress! Thanks for letting me share!

Ooohhhh, aaahhhh! New scrapland looks fabulous, sweetie! I think after all the work you did you definitely deserved to take a nap right there on the new carpet. Can't wait to see what piece of fabulousness you come up with based on your own personal color challenge!

OK...I am udderly (pun intended) JEALOUS!! You would die if you saw my "scrapland". It's really quite tiny, so sad. But I will come and look at your pics of your scrapland and be happy!

I'd say that's less orange and more Tuscan Tangerine, if there ever was such a color, and darling, it is marvelous ! But you are such a color expert so you know how stimulating and inspiring that color surely is, and how it really is a neutral. "Orange" goes with everything ! Smashing with other citrus colors, stunning with blue, mellowed with brown, contrasted by cream. Darling, you are brilliant !! Now get some rest.

Big hugs
Ms. E

Man, am I jealous! You will never want to leave there once you're in! Beautiful colors---I am too nervous to try things like that, but it looks great!

Wow girl, I am jealous. I love the high celing and all the light that you have coming in. I do have a good size craft area, but not the light you have here. I would love to have all that natural light. ENJOY!

Things are shapin' up there in Scrapland! You go girl! I love the earthy colors and that beautiful double door with all the light flooding in! It's going to be your own little piece of heaven :)
DO I see you on that ladder without shoes? tsk tsk!! That's a no-no!! {that's what they've always told me too but I spent 95% of my life without shoes on) :D

Wow! I'd say you've made the BEST lemonade from the lemons that landed in your lap! Those colors are stunning, and I have no doubt will inspire you to create beautiful works of art. Love the french doors and the view they provide too. Hope you have a phone there so you can order in...oh, and you might need a bed and a restroom too since you'll likely never want to leave! ;) tfs
