As for ME...! I AM "much obliged" to be creating with this wonderful
technique!  Sometimes I need a gentle reminder to break out the embossing
gun, from time to time, and this was SURELY a great reason to do it!

11-11-11 and Challenge #110...Ohhh! Just missed it!

Drats! Wouldn't that have been FABULOUS if Just Us Girls
had been on Challenge # 111! Crackers. Oh, well. Never MIND

that - we're still having ALL kinds of technique rich fun over
thar, at the place where Just Us Girls { and YOU, too! } play!

Our crafty efforts and fun are being hosted by the darling
and EVER so talented, Lisa! She's sharing a super technique,
perked up a notch or two after a class she took with Wendy
Vecchi {LUCKY!} last year. The technique is called "ghosting",
but she cranks it up a notch by embossing with white pigment
ink, to really make the colors pop! By the looks of her exquisite
sample, she was EXTREMELY successful - it's a stunner!!! If
you are interested in a tutorial, check here! Being the rebel that
I am... I went the traditional route..... {!}

Using ONLY Versamark... because.... {remember my middle name: DANGER!}
but also because I've never been successful with it. I always opt for clear embossing
or quit all together. I was beginning to think this technique was a myth! Well, I am,
at last, a BELIEVER! It worked! Versamark, only... and a few great tips from my
darling DT cohort, and CLOSE, PERSONAL FRIEND! Dana G! - Anywhoo, she re-
minded me about the importance of heat gun application AND had a great tip to use
an Embossing Buddy! WHAT a buddy! Indeed! I'm POSITIVELY delighted with the
results! Before I inked the background, I made some clouds with Post-Its and added
my joyful cloud crafting technique, shown here { In case you're interested! - ! } to ensure
the feeling of WIDE open space in this here, GET well card for a friend who's been
out of the saddle for too long.... {Prayers of healing*Prayers of healing*Prayers of
healing....! - A girls GOT to ride! That's alllllllll!} Anywhoo, check out THIS fantastic
stamp in the inside of this card.... {THANKS, again, Claire, of Waltzing Mouse
Stamps, for designing this set for lil' old me - I SURE appreciate it! LOL}

Goin' with the WOOD-GRAIN!

Just Us Girls have a FANTASTIC technique challenge for lovely YOU, this week!

{It's a challenge that has ME written all over it!}

We're goin' with the WOOD GRAIN!

Oh, DEAR! Oh, MY! What luck! {For ME!} I, personally, LOVE wood grain!

Our lovely HOSTESS with the mostess for this week, Pam... {I could KISS her!}
chose this grand method of creating faux wood grain - I JUST LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE!

Paper*Stamps*Embossing* and now, ink pad dragging & scoring ... to make -

WOODGRAIN! {Heeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllloooooooooooooooo!}

So, of course, I saw BARN-wood potential - I mean, c'mon - you KNEW I'd go there!

And a "little SCENE!" to see beyond the window....

Hard to imagine HOW I LIVED without these wonderful sentiment stamps from
the, ever such a gift to all western-lovin,' crafty types, Clare, from Waltzing Mouse Stamps!
And some terrific horse images from Inkadinkadoo - I had all the components of a proper
barn scene! I little masking and layers of stamped, embossed words and images.....

that had been tinted with creamy caramel dye ink,
then dragged with cocoa brown, dye ink, then espresso....
