I love paper!

Especially, when it's flippin' awesome... Super-delicious colors and let's not forget about cool artwork! These days, my tail wags ferociously for nostalgic vintage prints, and October Afternoon has been delivering the goods, big time! I was INSPIRED...

By their new {to me!} and recent collection, Report Card....

My kids, who just returned to school after Spring break, not so inspired! But that's okay, I did my time!!! I was in school when these images were still in use! So, I'm allowed to play! {hee hee} Speaking of play, I thought that these cool stamps would compliment nicely with the Report Card collection, so I colored up this guy, his wagon and books and sent him off to school as well!

He's pretty cute! I colored him with a combo of Water Color Pencils and Stampin' Up's Watercolor Wonder Crayons with an aqua painter {LOVE those things!}

Anyway, these stamps are by a COOL, local (in my neck of the woods!)company called Pink Persimmon... If you can't find them or you want more info, please e-mail me! I met the owners, IRL, around Christmas time at a local VINTAGE art fair {awesomeness!} and I was quite smitten with their vintagey funness!

Sometimes, I just loves me a good "color-in" image and Pink Persimmon has MANY that fit with that fun criteria! So, YEAH for PAPER CRAFTING-FUN! Hope you're having some RIGHT NOW!

Happy Saturday to ya!

Blog Pals!

I love this ~ when friendships and bits of blog life cross over... to the real world! I talk to some of you DAILY! Some of you {xoxo!}, are chatted with THROUGHOUT the day! Some of us chit chat over coffee, and all of you, I wish to READ your funny and creative insights every day ~ if only there were more hours!!! Anywhoo, here is a card that was sent to me.... ALL THE WAY FROM THE EAST COAST!

Friendship Card from LeAnne / Wee Inklings:

LeAnne is a super talent and a delightful blogger, and SHE was the funny gal who "strongly encouraged" me to participate in the Color Throwdown {and when I say ENCOURAGED, I'm mean it!}... which, she is a fabulous designer for! Anyway, isn't this a super sweet seasonal friendship card! Golly gosh, I LOVE THOSE FUN PUMPKINS! Check out Leanne's blog when you have some time! AND, jump in for some super fun color challenge with the CTD girls! You'll be glad you DID!

I made and SENT LeAnne a card that she kindly featured on HER blog! Here is another card that I made with some "card maker's salad" that was leftover on my table top! {Dana, from Paper Daydream calls it "Card Casserole!" ~ isn't that the perfect description!}

Although this weekend wasn't punctuated with the same high level of crafty excitement as WCMD, I do want to share that I was fortunate in having the opportunity to scrap with some darling local scrappers/craft goddesses at a nearby church today~ it was such a lovely way to "keep the love alive" {from WCMD!} and share a super crafty fun day with others who are just as crazy as I am! Tee Hee {THANKS, ladies! What a blast!}

As usual, I'm hoping that YOU, darling blog visitor, friend and co-paper craft lovin' craft goddess, got some craft on today, and if not ~ there's always TOMORROW! {Yee Haw!}

Supplies -

Wahooo! 2 in 1, Baby!

This "going for two" is big for me! I recently saw a gal's work and she did FIVE challenges with one card! Now that's some SERIOUSLY crafty craftiness! I'm pretty excited when I can do ONE challenge at a time, so TWO is, seriously, thrilling for me! First there's the Moxie Fab GO GREEN! FIND THE VALUE IN VINTAGE challenge thing that's been somersaulting around in my brain for a while.... THEN, that crafty little minx, Dawn McVey tosses out one of the MOST challenging color schemes I've seen (unless you're making MONEY, aka: lettuce, bills, cabbage...)... So, this is wild:

Wait until you see the cute color graphic Dawn made! Here are my colors in natural light, although it's sunset, so there's a pinkness to my photos that isn't there in "professional" light. This next shot I used an "enhance" feature on my i-photo, nothing special, but it's neat to compare...

Here's a detail shot of my metal stamping! Thank goodness I still have those babies!

CHECK OUT THE GRAPHIC HERE! Moxie's challenge called for a FOR REAL hunk of vintage "something!" I racked my brains and searched and searched for just the right bit of treasure! FINALLY, I found this: wrapped up in some old business cards and memorabilia from my dear, sweet dad. My mom has been curating over small pieces of Dad's old things slowly handing them over to me in the years since my dad passed away. Sometimes I look and other times I squirrel them away in a drawer.... A drawer of treasures that one day I'll weave into some sort of family keepsake... There's the nostalgic and sad part of that, and then there is something like this guy: the WARD's MOTOR RECORD BOOK "man!" My dad ALWAYS kept a record of his millage and car care. How funny that mom should find this ANCIENT piece and save it for me! There is copyright from 1930, 1937, 1949 and 1959! I KNEW when I saw this ridiculously funny face that a vintage card would be born from this!
