Here SHE is! It's the coffee lady, fueling up for more fun! She told me, she wanted to come out and play with these colors for this dynamic color combo by Scrapmaster's Paradise:


Sometimes I just swoon at the possibility of "what to do with these hunky, gorgeous colors?" It can be a tough choice, and other times... the problem just kind of solves itself... THIS was one of those cases!

This blissfully retro, coffee swillin' gal from Stampin' Up!'s Sip by Sip set, is such a peach. I *heart* her. As you may recall, she's trotted out for many cards through out my blog-dom... I just think she, and her accessories, are a lot of fun! In fact, the first time I used her for a blog-card, I spoke of Mike Meyer's fabulous character, Linda Richmond: it's hard not to channel Linda when I stamp with this gal. Reflecting on THAT, I got the idea to set her inside a TV to create another retro element and BEHOLD: I believe this now qualifies me for an entry into the MOXIE FAB household item challenge! So, be sure to tune in to that fun over with Cath and the gang from Moxie Fab! {tee heee}

I guess there's no mystery left between ya'll and my addiction to coffee.. and t'walk.. and paper crafting FUN! I'm glad. I couldn't have a nicer group of sponsors, than yourselves.... THANKS!

How do you like YOUR coffee!?!

{GET READY!} I'm a TRIPLE, soy Mocha... light on the chocolate and NO whip cream. That's my order, everyday... My addiction, my life's DAILY requirement to get me where I need to be and do all that I can do. I'm sorry, but it's MY vice. Coffee makes me HAPPY! Coffee makes me, ME! I can't believe how much I love it: I just do!

In fact, as I'm writing this, it is FAR too late in the morning to think that I still haven't HAD mine yet! Doh! It will be my "reward" after I finish this post! I have been burning the way-Midnight oil trying to finish up a bunch of projects and last night was WAAAAAYYYYYYY late! I out lasted Craig Fergusen! (I don't know if I'm spelling his name right or not, but who cares: he's hilarious!) Anywhoo, there was major road construction out in front of our property last night so it wasn't like I was going to get a lot of sleep anyhow... Booooo Hoooooo I'm not feeling sorry for myself, REALLY: I AM a night owl! {It's in my contract!} I'm sharing this with you as an introduction to my CARD that I'm about to post!



She's baaaaaaaack! Spaced-out, 1950's looking coffee lady who always makes me hear "Linda Richmond" aka, Mike Meyers from SNL way back in my {just after college} day! ...Now I'm feeling "pheclempt".... Anywhoo, as I said, it was a LATE NIGHT and I still had a bunch of goodies out on the table in "Scrapland" so I just had to p - l - a - y !



Please, WHEREVER you are, I hope YOU can hear Linda, too! READ this sentiment that comes with the "Sip by Sip" set from Stampin' Up! (I'm pretty sure it's on the "dormant list" because it DID NOT retire.. you'd have heard me crying for SURE if that had been the case!) Just read it and HEAR "Linda"... Hold on... I have some "schmootz" in my eye... "talk amongst yu-selves.." Are you feeling "pheclempt?" I am, only because I have never tried to insert a You Tube Video in a post. If I was savvy that way, I'd FIND MIKE MEYERS AS LINDA and you'd be rolling!

Sorry, though. For now, it's just the thought that counts: okay!?!


Look at HER! This time I made her a blonde, {a little like MY mother in the 70's! Shhhhh!} check her out as a red-head in a previous post! She's FUN! I like a girl who isn't afraid to give herself a little make-over every now and then!

C'woffe t'walk and CPS112

With no disrespect to my friends from New York, please! I must share my complete admiration for Mike Meyers and his creation, Linda Richmond.... and for sharing her with the world! I don't know how I ever drank coffee and talked, before the insertion of the letter "w"... To quote a stamp from the very set I used for the CPS112 sketch challenge, "Chocolate, coffee, men- some things are better rich." If "Linda" were a stamper, I know she'd approve!


For consideration in this week's fun challenge, I say "thanks a latte!" I tweaked the sketch a bit in favor of the composition of my stamps of choice, from the Stampin' Up! set, "Sip by Sip..." Here is the original sketch from the wonderful website, "Card Positioning Systems."


What a hoot it was to work with this concept! I was hankering to play with the c'woffe lover's set, so inspiration came easily: it was the technical parts that took a bit longer....

At first, Mrs. Coffee-lovin' over-achiever lady can look like she either hasn't had enough... Or, she's had too much COFFEE! So I gave her a little make-over! She had to match my patterned paper choice, "Sweet Slumber" also by S/U! What a juicy little number this paper collection turned out to be! I didn't realize it was SO thick and textured and DELIGHTFUL! The double-sided assortment gave me plenty of material to work with, but I really wanted the stamps to shine, so hopefully it was a nice match up... Coffee lady got some new hair and lips by stamping her in "Riding Hood Red" and then cutting out her needed "parts" and then gluing them to the lady where needed.. I love doing this: it's always worth the extra effort!


In continued tribute and respect for MY NEW BFF (T!m) I decided to use MORE FRAGMENTS! Incorporating a technique I learned from the man, HIMSELF... Where you use the self sticking metal tapes, from Ranger Industries, to bind your image to your fragment: little or no glue required! Whoopee! Good thing I started hoarding that stuff about three or four years ago!


What a great time this was: I'm so enjoying these challenges and getting to know the blog-o-sphere a bit better! Some other miscellaneous materials I used: black Staz-On on mirrored cardstock, then cut out for the coffee pot; paper ribbon from K & Co. plus assorted punches... Wahoooo! "Who knew!?!"-L. Richmond
