Bring on a new round of COLOR!

That's right, babies!

I am so excited to be part of this PARTICULAR color inspiration from Wplus9 -
We're beckoning SPRING!
"Oh, spriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnng.... Come out, come OUT......, whereEVER you arrrrrreeeee!"

C'mon little fella - GET ON WITH IT ALREADY! {YES, I'm shouting!} hee hee

Okay, enough of that. Let's try some of THIS:

Now that I'm done with my little tantrum. I'll try Dawn's way! A little gentle coaxing perhaps...
Woopsie - almost forgot! These colors were KERRIANNE'S inspiration!

Meanwhile, I just have to share this triumphant usage of tool, inspired by this challenge.

LAST YEAR, I positively thought I might not live if I could not be in ownership of the
Martha Stewart SHAMROCK punch! {AAaaaaaarrrgggghhh!} It was sold out from ALL
of our local Michael's and I was DEVASTATED..... Fortunately, though, I pulled through.

Later that season, the stores were blissfully restocked and I became a proud owner
of the wee little shamrock punch! Astonishingly, I might {!}
have MISSED my opportunity to parade it out, all together,
if NOT for the fun I was having with color and texture - SUDDENLY
I remembered my sweet lil' baby shamrock and the rest is LAYERS of history!

{Got my $$$ and *heart* worth RIGHT THAR - THAT'S what I'm TALKIN' about!!!}

I turned to the lovely and inspirational team from CARD PATTERNS for my
composition inspiration: I love this one! It was the perfect platform for my
colorful, colorful FUN!

I can ALMOST see spring comin'! Yipeeeeee!

Thank you for peeking at this colorful post! I CANNOT wait to see what YOU do!
{C'mon! YOU know I'm talking to YOU! We'd LOVE to see your work in the CUE!!!!}
Let's tap mother earth on the shoulder and remind her - we're WAITING!

Bring ONNNNN the SPRING! Yeee HAW!

Mixin' up some color WITH Color Cue 10!

Oh, friends - Dawn is REALLY mixing things up, this round!

Believe it or NOT, I can GUARANTEE that you will LOVE, love, L-O-V-E this particular Color Cue! Here's why:

WAIT!!! Wait, wait, I know what you're thinking.... "Who does SHE think she is!?! Maybe I don't even LIKE those colors... How can SHEEEEE guarantee that I will love this color combo?"

Now, that's just shameless! Here's me, hoping to CONVINCE you to L-O-V-E
this color combo, simply because I enjoyed it so much.... {Shameless! Truly!}

Okay, wait! Just give me a chance...!

How intuitive is Dawn? I had SO much fun working with a similar color palette in my last post, and I was even WISHING that such a color combo could be much more LARGELY celebrated...

And speaking of celebrations, how 'bout some GATE FOLD inspiration with the super fun and fabulous gals of the JUST US GIRLS crew? Oooooowwww, baby! What a fun twist on card craft!

There is something SO fun about a card that operates in a unique way! I'm just DELIGHTED with this challenge, and the opportunity to INSIST that you love Dawn's latest Color Cue......

I had a blast sifting through some of the newest and some of my all time FAVORITE WPLUS9 stamps, to create this stampy, layered, glittered and inky piece... I love making a card like this really "click" together with the use of some of the MOST IMPORTANT paper craft embellishments EVER created... Basic Grey magnets! I hid one inside the oval sentiment flap:

On the back side of the card, I easily found the magnetic point and then attached the
"negative" magnet, secured with some embellishment glue, like so:

This way the card lays perfectly flat, when needed. but opens easily and makes a
memorable greeting for ANY occasion! Thanks for the terrific inspiration, JUGS girls!

So, are you wondering if I'm STILL insisting that you will positively LOVE W9's latest Color Cue? Well, HERE'S the twist... ALL OF US PICKED OUR OWN COLORS! That's right! Each member of the W9 team picked our own colors to work with! YOU may choose your favorite palette to play along! You can pick 1 or ALL of the palettes, if you so desire! It's custom color play! {Yipee! What fun!} Do WE know how to party with paper, or WHAT!?! You'll definitely want to click around and see what else is being offered...

{But IIIIIIIII will love you BEST if you pick mine... just sayin'!}

Oh, now THAT was shameless!{!} I kid. You know THAT! {*Wink!*} I'm a kidder!

Oh, gosh, one more thing I have to gush about - if you, too, get a chance to
combine BOTH of these wonderful challenges... { What a GREAT idea!!!! }
The JUGS girls are busy celebrating a very special birthday
girl from their divine team... And, well, she's kind of a CLOSE,
personal, friend of mine.... HEEE HEEEE: It's Dana!
Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

See why I call her, "Sweet Lil' Dane!" {She makes that Tim fellow look so handsome!}
Anyway, I didn't have time to make her a card, yet, so I thought I'd just embarrass her.
{I know! - I AM shameless!} I loves you, lil' Dane! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Color Cue time, once again!

Ooooooowwww! It's time to get my COLOR-ONNNNN!

Sweet Mrs. "W" {as in WPLUS9}, Dawn, has assembled another scrumptious color swatch to entertain, delight and s-t-r-e-c-h our color expertise, once again! Are YOU ready?

I sure hope so! Here's what I came up with ~

Since lovely Dawn, so kindly reminded me that it's not just STAMP, ink and paper that can "make" the color palette sing... I grabbed some wonderful material that I've had stashed in a pocket in one of my {many!} scrapbooking totes... for a LONG time! Anywhooo, looked "HARVEST GOLD" enough to me, so I made some flowers! {*Gasp!*} AND liked it!!! Then, I grabbed some stamps - from FOUR different sets, from W9, and had a card craft FESTIVAL! What FUN!

Let's check out what the OTHER lovelies from Dawn's creative team came up with!

Fishin' for COLOR inspiration...

You NEVER know where you might find it!

I caught me some RIGHT HERE, at Dawn's wonderful Color Cue! Do these colors say "make a fish card" to you? They sure were a challenge for little old me. Plus, I am SO loving this stamp set from Dawn's latest release.... And while I'm totally smitten for the supremely elegant, Mehndi Medallions, I just can't STOP playing with these little fishies, from Kerrianne's hand, and her darling, Hooked On You set! and their wonderful sentiments - the possibilities for fun card craft are endless! So, I just kept my "line" in the water until the conditions were right and I MADE me a fish scene out of these colors - FISH ON!

I've said it before, but it always helps to admit my problem... I'm kind of a literal girl. I have problems s t r e t c h i n g colors to fit non-traditional subjects.... ie... Using kraft as my underwater scene... But then I just "swam around in the idea." I thought of a shallow tributary of water, via snorkel and mask... and it kinda just came to me! Then, I got the idea to use real sand... combined with a wrong way splatter of glue, the sandy outcroppings of coral were born! HEEEE HEEEE! {Don't we love when a mistake turns... HAPPY!!!}

Forgive me, but I had to show you this card from an additional angle, so that I could share the JOY of using a happy bottle of Lumiere that's been living in a special drawer for, too many, years... {never used! DOH!} Today, it got out to play! Yes, I did! And it was "legal" in the color scheme and gave that adorable lil' fishy just the character she needed... next to this guy!

What a doll! I'm NEVER going to tire of Mr. Wormy, here! Don't these two make a darling pair!?!

So, there's my CATCH OF THE DAY! Color fun + happy fish + IT'S FRIDAY! Yeahooooooooo!

That's for swimming by! Hope it's flawlessly seasonal summer weather for you this weekend!

Enjoy!

I'm buzzin' with gratitude...

It's time for ANOTHER Color Cue challenge by Dawn Woleslagle, the masterful designer of WPLUS9 design studios, and the gal who beckons us... Stamp Away With Me...!

I get it. Now I really do. What a super clever blog title... I wonder if Dawn knew she was going to design such brilliant stamps when she started her blog...? Whether or not you are transported by the fantastic and appealing card design, she makes look so easy, or you are mesmerized by the images in her stamp collections, she's just a whole lot of fun! Take this swatch, for example...

Oh, it just feels like summer! {And it's about time!} Aren't these smashing!?! I immediately pulled out the {appropriate} ink, and just started playing with the darling images from Dawn's latest release, The Bird & The Bees. Once I created this sunny little scene, I knew this would lend itself to the use of sentiment inside...

*Speaking of appropriate!* Just a note on my interpretation of the color... When I first viewed this swatch without the color labels, I interpreted the "green" as Crushed Curry from S/U's current In-Color collection. After being DAZZLED by all of the gal's work on Dawn's blog, I can see that the color was interpreted a variety of ways... Sorry for any confusion.. DEFINITELY make sure you see how Dawn used the color... and don't HATE me because I see color on the computer screen and just JUMP in! {Doh!}

*Swoon!*

Aren't those bees + kraft.... {wait for it...} THE BEES KNESS! {Tee Hee!} Soooo many adorable images in this set!!! But, wait! Don't take my word for it! See what Dawn and the rest of her amazing design team have done with the exciting colors from Color Cue #5 and more, more, more of Dawn's stamps....

I sure hope you'll grab some color and play along with the latest Color Cue!

Catching my breath and some COLOR CUE!

*Pant*Pant!

In the parenting "contract" that I'm pretty sure I signed AFTER reading the fine print... I don't recall the section that said "after the end of Spring Break and until the last day of school, the time space continuum will swallow you and your calender, whole. Sanity breaks will be short lived while lacking the restorative power you require to face this period, but you will not waver in the commitment to your kids and their scholastic requirements and necessary support in the home..."

Wait, W - H - A - T !?!

I'm just saying, this time of year is particularly challenging. It feels insane, like the holidays, but no tree or presents. But speaking of CHEER... Cheerful things that made me sign up for this wild ride to begin with...

Another baby card, to remind me that when they were babies, I thought it was JUST AS DIFFICULT!!! {But they sure were cute!} Meanwhile, these images, and a slice of priceless craft time equaled ... a great way to celebrate the colors of Dawn's latest Color Cue ~ this one's number 4!

So, in spite of my, ample, self pity... I made this to feature these happenin' colors and Dawn's latest release, Kisses and Cuddles....

Aside from HOW ADORABLE this train is and HOW MUCH FUN I HAD COLORING IT and adding smoke from the wee-little chimney, easy-peasy with a small smudge of ink and my aqua pen!!! I had EXTRA fun with the word, "welcome."

I'm REALLY coming around to the wonders of the clear stamps (although I'll NEVER give up my wood mounted - just sayin'...!)..... But this was huge for me! I tapped the sentiment in light blue and then, because you can literally see though it, tapped the top part of the word, lengthwise and the underside as well in navy ink... Oooooooowwww! Two-tone! HELLO!!!! Easy, fun and memorable!

Just enough creative juice to re-invigorate me to go back out into the trenches of academic commitment! {hee hee}

But speaking of CREATIVE JUICE..... ! And, if you HAVE the time, AND you'd like to add some extra inspiration to your OWN fantastic ju-ju, check out everyone's inspirational pieces with these dynamite colors and give 'em a good yee haw {!} from me!

All righty then, lovey doves!

I'm off to bed and then to the Petaluma Cruiser's in the AM to help the 4Hers and their popcorn sales! Much fun and fabulous photo opportunities to come! Have a great day/night/weekend - you name it!

I'm feeling a little CHALLENGED!

Dawn Woleslagle has a new Color Cue Challenge and it's a dilly!

Just in time to celebrate some of her NEWEST stamps... {WAHOOO! I hope you'll go by her blog and check out her AMAZING samples and terrific celebration of these unique images and infinite possibility... } Dawn has been incredibly prolific and YOWZA, very inspirational! This is an opportunity to really challenge yourself with this terrific color combo, I just hafta' say (once again...) If I can do it, YOU can! Sincerely! I sure hope you'll play along! And, FRIENDS... for MORE and terrific ideas about how to play with these super colors and images, don't miss Maile and Savitri's Color Cue samples as well!

Thank goodness for challenges! I had almost forgotten how much I love White CRAFT ink! Just plain old CRAFT ink, direct to card stock, air-dried... NAKED, babies! No embossing! {DANGER!!!} It's so beeeeeeeeeaaaaaauuuuuuutiful! Dawn has created MORE images that register together, large and small, crisp and bold, delicate and beautifully drawn.... Did I mention POSSIBILITY! Yipeeee!

I had such fun with this darling, lil' bird! He's so animated in this terrific pose and he reminded me of the hoards of determined Robins we have here at Rancho Durenberger right now ~ suddenly, I was inspired to use the gray/blue and melon color from Dawn's Color Cue, direct to stamp, to emphasize the "Robin-ness" I was seeing here...

I tapped him into my "Groovy Guava" stamp pad from Stampin' Up! just to get the stamp primed, the used a "Brocade Blue" pen, direct to stamp and swiped it over the top half of the bird image, cleaning it on a piece of scratch paper, to maintain the gray/blue, but using the lines of the bird's wings and beak as a natural color line. The pen wipes the color away, but leaves just a hint that adds some natural volume... Then, I dabbed just a little bit of "Chocolate Chip" for an eye and legs... The shadow was created with a small aqua painter and a hint of "Brocade Blue"... POP! {I'm powerless over a nice shadow for a lil' grounding...} Good fun!

So, friends. Paper crafting... I've been missing it and ya'll! Hope you're having a wonderful week, and that you get a slice of time to join Dawn's latest Color Cue AND consider throwing in your "hat" with her latest DT call! We're having a WONDERFUL time, I don't mind sharing that! Dawn is looking for a three month commitment, so PLEASE, please, share your talent with her and US! It's all good!
